If I couldn’t get good tea when I am travelling, I will just drink water. Why bother drinking bad tea? Have never figured that part out about others. They may pay pennies less per cup of vastly inferior tea. Yes, Pre-rain Qing Ming Dragonwell will be over $550 p/lb easily. That’s $5.50 a serving ( but makes 4 cups)for one of the most expensive teas in China only government officials get that you have to roll up in a Rolls to buy. Or, spend $4.50 at Starbucks for some foaming milky coffee and sugar in a paper cup. Support handmade, hand harvested, traditional seed grown Dragonwell about to disappear soon. Or, more mass produced stuff for the same cost, like a burger at a fast food joint.
And Anji? About $2 a serving, also gets you 4 cups. $.50 per cup for one of the most outstanding green teas around. Or spend $.80 for some silken teabag blend cup of ‘tea’. Why? I can never understand. Why spend more for far less quality?
