Phoenix Ya Sai Harvest

Early Harvest for Phoenix Ya Sai

The weather has been highly unpredictable, and each region is experiencing different harvest times that surprise us. For example, this week, young leaves from the Phoenix Mountain region are about to sprout, almost one month earlier than expected! The fabled Phoenix Ya Sai was much unknown until we started blogging about it and bringing in the limited quantities harvested. It’s now circulating on the web not totally as an authentic Phoenix tea, let alone from the actual mother tree!

Duck Poop

Ya Sai literally means ‘Duck Poop’, a name that the farm family thought would dissuade their neighbors from stealing and clipping the branches off the mother tree. The tea made from this singular tree called Duck Poop has the fragrance of young hydrangea flowers, narcissus, and lilacs all rolled into one flavorful, sophisticated cup of tea. The farmer whose family owns the tree, Mr. Wei, is known as the best tea artisan of his generation by the tea research institute professors! This confluence of top notch skills and rarity makes this tea more than special indeed.

We will be able to buy a small quantity as very little of the real tea is harvested each season, so lock in your pre-order now.
